Analtech Prepares for Film Shoot

May 12, 2008 at 02:36 PM

Analtech, Inc., the only U.S. manufacturer of Thin Layer Chromatography plates and accessories, is preparing to film a viral video that will serve as both an advertising and educational mission.

In preparation for the June 21 filming, the company is holding open auditions for a variety of speaking roles and will need several additional people of all ages to use as extras.

The Delaware Film Company - known for high quality commercial and film work - will be filming the project on their industry revolutionizing RED camera. Early adopters of the Ultra-HD camera include Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings) and Steven Soderberg (Ocean's Eleven, Traffic).

“I'm excited to bring this kind of cinematic quality to my home state,” said Christopher Stout, director for the project and USC alum. “We have found the best location for this film, with rolling hills, beautiful gardens, and a gorgeous pond area - this is why I love Delaware.  You just can't find locations like this in LA.”ponds

The film is going to be set in medieval times. For costuming, Analtech is using the talents of Gina Scarnati, costume designer for Opera Delaware.

The open casting call will be held Thursday, May 22, between 4:00 and 7:00 PM at Pencader Charter School.

“We're primarily looking for a young woman who will be the centerpiece of our new ad and educational campaign,” said Steven C. Miles, General Manager of Analtech. “This series of films will be something that science teachers around the world will be able to use to help teach students about the history of chromatography and its many uses in everything from pharmaceutical development to crime scene investigations to industrial use.”
